Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a visa to work in Japan?
You must have a valid status of residence that allows you to work in Japan for the position and period of employment. This may include Japanese citizenship, permanent residency, a spouse visa, a Working Holiday Visa, or another applicable work-authorised status. Please check the requirements listed on each job posting.

Does Niseko Kids Club sponsor work visas?
For the Winter 2026–2027 season, applicants must already have or be able to obtain appropriate eligibility to work in Japan. Niseko Kids Club is not offering visa sponsorship for these seasonal positions.

Do I need to speak Japanese?
It depends on the position. Strong English communication is important for many of our roles, while Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese or other language skills may be preferred for certain guest-facing positions.

Is staff accommodation available?
Subsidized staff accommodation is available to eligible seasonal employees, subject to availability. Accommodation details, room types and applicable fees are provided during the employment and onboarding process.

Do I need a childcare qualification?
Requirements vary by role. Some positions do not require a formal childcare qualification, although previous experience working with children may be strongly preferred. First Aid & CPR certification may also be required before performing childcare duties.

Living and Working in Niseko

Niseko is an internationally renowned winter destination on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, attracting visitors and seasonal workers from around the world.

The area is famous for its powder snow, skiing and snowboarding, spectacular scenery and international community. English is widely used throughout the resort area, making Niseko an accessible place to experience living and working in Japan.

The Niseko United ski area includes Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu and HANAZONO. Niseko Kids Club’s daycare is located inside HANAZONO 308, where we provide childcare services to families visiting Niseko throughout the winter season.

The nearby town of Kutchan provides the everyday services seasonal staff need, including supermarkets, banks, post offices, healthcare, gyms, restaurants and a JR train station.
