Niseko Childcare Supervisor 2023/24

Position Overview

As a Niseko Childcare Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of childcare specialists and babysitters in providing exceptional care for children ranging from newborns to 12 years old. Your role will encompass both our daycare center and babysitting services, requiring strong leadership skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for childcare.

Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Team Management
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to childcare specialists and babysitters.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct mid-season and end-season performance evaluations for childcare specialists and babysitters.
  1. Daycare Operations
  • Supervise the daily activities in the daycare center, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for children.
  • Assist in planning and organizing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Monitor feeding routines and attend to the general well-being of each child.
  • Foster open and effective communication with children, families, and team members.
  1. Babysitting Services
  • Oversee babysitting assignments, ensuring each child receives personalized care and attention.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with babysitters to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Address any concerns or issues that arise during babysitting assignments.
  1. Health and Safety
  • Ensure that indoor and outdoor learning environments are maintained in a clean, hygienic, and safe condition.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect the well-being of children and staff.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each child in both daycare and babysitting settings, utilizing the Daily Connect app to ensure events are updated, information is correct.
  • Ensure staff are proficient in adding events with explanatory context regarding the purpose and developmental impact of specific activities.
  • Assist in updating handover notes to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and clear communication among team members regarding the care and activities of each child.
  1. Administrative Tasks
  • Review and maintaining accurate records on the enrollment sheets and daily communication sheets.
  • Assist in managing resources within the daycare, including crafts, sanitary goods, and kids’ snacks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in childcare, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with children, exhibiting patience and empathy.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, including infant care.
  • Valid Working with Children check.
